Saints were unfortunate not to lead after Morgan Knowles seemed to touch the ball down only for referee Robert Hicks to deem the ball had ran dead. Replays had shown the try should have been given before Mark Percival was then denied a try by the video referee.
Warrington then hit Saints with the sucker punch, taking the lead with the next play through Joe Philbin before Ben Murdoch-Masila extended their lead.
Theo Fages pulled a try back, but Daryl Clark sealed the win for Warrington.
