Head Coach Paul Rowley speaks to the press ahead of Friday night’s home Betfred Super League fixture against Catalans Dragons.

The Saints have moved on quickly from last weekend’s disappointing defeat to Toulouse and are fully focused on Friday night’s home clash. Rowley said the squad had been honest in reviewing Sunday’s performance but stressed the focus is now on putting things right, and that actions will speak louder than words.

With now sixteen First Team players sidelined, Rowley acknowledged the challenge Saints face but talked about it being an opportunity for young players to learn from their experiences, both good and bad. Furthermore, it offers a chance for new leaders to stand up and drive standards.

Looking ahead to the game against Catalans, Rowley admitted Saints are going to be a target given the number of injuries, but he insisted the Club will keep moving forward. His focus remains on producing a performance supporters can be proud of as Saints look to bounce back.

Rowley also confirmed the unfortunate news that Daryl Clark will miss the rest of the season after suffering ankle ligament damage that requires surgery. Alex Walmsley and George Delaney also remain unavailable as they await specialist clearance following their failed HIAs against Wigan at Magic Weekend, and Owen Dagnall has begun his recovery from his ACL injury, with surgery to come very soon.
