Assistant Coach Lee Briers looks ahead to St.Helens facing Bradford Bulls on Saturday evening.

The Saints have continued their usual preparations ahead of Saturday’s game, with extra attention paid to hydration as the squad trains during the UK heatwave.

Briers highlighted the challenge of Odsal’s smaller pitch and expects Bradford to provide another tough test after pushing Saints close earlier this season.

Our injury list has unfortunately grown, with Briers offering the latest update. Mark Percival ruled out for around eight weeks with a hamstring injury, and George Whitby is set for knee surgery that could keep him sidelined for 8-16 weeks. Deon Cross is expected to miss the rest of the season due to bicep surgery.

Lewis Murphy is edging closer to a return, and Daryl Clark misses out this week to manage some minor injuries. Jacob Host returns after recovering from his leg break and is available to feature against the Bulls.

This has created opportunities for younger players, something that is exciting both Briers and the team. Jacob Douglas could make his debut after impressing with his attitude and patience on loan, but the Assistant Coach praised the progress of Owen Dagnall, Tom Humphreys, Jake Davies and George Delaney. With Academy talents also in contention this week, he believes they have earned their chance, and he is confident that if selected, they will be ready for the challenge at Bradford.
