We may not have any rugby league to enjoy in person over the next few weeks given the recent suspension of the game, but that won’t stop us enjoying some memorable classics from years gone by to fill the time on Saints TV!
This week we were set to face Leeds Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium so let us join together and enjoy a classic between the two sides at our St Helens home back in the Grand Final winning year of 2014.
Going into this Round 7 Super League clash, Saints were without several first-choice players, with suspended forwards Kyle Amor and Jon Wilkin their latest absentees.
In contrast, Leeds welcomed back captain Sinfield and veteran prop Jamie Peacock for a much-anticipated game between two of Super League’s early-season pacesetters.
The night also saw St.Helens captain Paul Wellens made his 413th Super League appearance, equalling the all-time record set by Keith Senior.
