Head Coach Kristian Woolf admits it has been a disruptive week at the Club, but insists it’s been business as usual for the players whilst he reveals who may step in on the wing and in the centre this Sunday against Hull KR.
The Club revealed yesterday that since our non-playing staff member received a positive test last week, the staff member had four further tests all of which came back negative whilst all first team players have once again returned negative test results in the weekly testing protocol.
But despite the good news, Woolf did admit that from a staff perspective it has been a little disruptive over the last week, with parts of their usual roles having to be done over video link.
With the news that Tommy Makinson will be missing for the next five games, as well as the latest injury to Mark Percival, the boss was asked who may slot in on the wing and in the centre and Jack Welsby’s name was mentioned having played there last season, whilst Matty Costello and young Josh Simm seem to be battling it out for a place in the centre’s on Sunday.
There was also some positive news on Dom Peyroux who is also fit again and could feature on Sunday, but he will be competing against the impressive James Bentley for a spot in the second row – a position he believes to be Bentley’s strongest.
Subscribers can hear more from the boss on Saints TV where he talks more about the last week, how the week off may again help the Saints, plus his thoughts on our opponents Hull KR.
