Theo Fages was delighted to kick his first drop goal of this career, but admitted the victory would have been sweeter had the Saints won in 80 minutes, rather than Golden Point!
Fages kicked an Extra Time drop goal to secure a hard-fought and dramatic 21-20 victory over Hull KR at the Totally Wicked Stadium last night and reflected on what was his first senior drop goal.
The Frenchman insists the Saints would rather win more comfortably, but equally says sometimes games go that way and was pleased to come away with the two points in the end.
Fages also revealed he thought Coote’s kick earlier had gone minutes earlier only for the referee to call it inches wide. And the Frenchman paid credit to the middles who laid the platform for his winner.
