A season to remember. Picking up a Challenge Cup medal, and Grand Final ring in 2021, it was almost as good of a first season as you can have for Sione Mata’utia.
One of the new recruits for the 2021 season, Sione cemented himself in the team with his aggression, strong running, and hard tackling, and was unlucky to miss out on a spot in our Challenge Cup winning side through suspension.
Following his strong debut season in the Red Vee, Sione has landed our number 11 shirt for the coming season with Joel Thompson having retired, and he’ll be looking to go one step further in 2022.
