Saints Tongan players, Will Hopoate, Agnatius Paasi and Konrad Hurrell have today done their bit for their people, by donating training gear back home as part of the Club’s initiative.
The trio popped down to the Shining Lights Centre to drop off their kit and had a message for all our fans…
The Saints boss, who is also the Tongan National Head Coach also donated a large number of his coaching tops from his time at Saints to the Tonga cause on Friday. You can hear from him here.

After launching the Tonga relief project earlier this week, we have seen huge numbers of support and positivity with fans already donating rugby clothing and equipment to the cause.
A number of generous rugby league fans have also donated to the cause by the way of the Just Giving Fundraising page which can be accessed here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/SaintsSupportingTongaย
For those that missed the big reveal, the Club launched an initiative which will see replica shirts and sports equipment sent to Tonga to help provide children with vital clothing and resources after the island was devastated recently following a Tsunami.
The Club also plans a hive of Tongan themed activity at the Saints vs Warrington clash on Friday 11 Marchย with more details revealed in due course.
St Helens have three Tongan players in our squad โ Konrad Hurrell, Will Hopoate and Agnatius Paasi whilst our Head Coach Kristian Woolf is also the Tongan National Coach and St Helens as a town will host Tonga at the Rugby League World Cup in 2022. Club Chaplain, Paul Johnson will also be the Tongan national teamโs Chaplain during the RLWC.
