Saints academy stepped in to help Tonga in an opposed training session in the build-up to their world cup campaign.
Having arrived at our Cowley Training Facility after attending college, a selection of our recent scholarship graduates and academy players took part in an opposed training session in which different drills and playing scenarios were practised for both attacking and defensive setups.
Following the session, Jason Taumalolo had the following words for our academy players: “Thank you for coming out and giving us a good hit out ahead of our first game against Papua New Guinea. Your club has made us feel welcome, and we appreciate the help you guys have given to us today. On behalf of us, I would like to wish you the best in the rest of your careers.”
