Following a hugely successful 2006 with a Super League title and a Challenge Cup added to our collection, expectations were high going into the 2007 season, and with an opening round win against the Huddersfield Giants, it looked likely that those expectations would be met.
However, the next two rounds saw losses to the then Harlequins RL (London Broncos) and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (Wakefield Trinity) which looked like we might struggle to match last season’s form, which was an even bigger worry with a World Club Challenge against the Brisbane Broncos the next game up.
However, despite the one-from-three start to the season, the World Club Challenge saw an impeccable performance from the Saints, which led to us lifting the trophy in Bolton following an 18-12 triumph.
The next game up was against the Bradford Bulls, and you can watch it in full above.
