Following our victory over Bradford in a pre-season friendly, we caught up with Matty Smith to get his thoughts on the game as he reflected on his first-ever experience as a head coach.
With a number of girls getting their first runouts for the women’s team, it was an excellent opportunity for Matty to see how the squad could line up come game week one. With a number of good performances, he knows the girls have given him a selection headache.
He also spoke about despite the game being a friendly, it means a lot to him to get that win, and the butterflies that come with gameday are well and truly back this year as he makes his first steps into coaching.
