Following our loss on the road against Hull KR, Paul Wellens spoke to the press about the performance.
On a tough, wet, night in Hull, Paul Wellens told the press he was disappointed with the result, but it was a game Hull deserved to win with them having the better field position and the control of the ruck. However, he did say he was proud of the effort shown by the group with how depleted we were as a squad.
Jordan Abdul was a big player in the game, especially with the conditions the way they were his repeat kicks to Tommy Makinson and his overall kicking game gave them a platform to play off.
Paul also said he’s been very impressed with James Bell This season, and the ability to play him at loose forward has been good for him and the team as he is allowed to get his hands on the ball more and be more influential in the play. He also said he was impressed with Mark Percival playing in the back row.
He also said he saw signs of improvement in some areas, with us playing it wide more often today after being drawn into playing one-up rugby last week against Wigan.
