Head Coach Paul Wellens spoke to the press ahead of our trip to Catalans on Friday.
Following a big win over the Warrington Wolves last time out, Paul believes that we have something big to build on there with the mentality that we showed. With a number of players missing for the game, we wanted to go out and enjoy the experience and play with the enthusiasm young players bring, and those young players gave a message to the senior members of our team.
Paul also spoke about the travel aspect of a Catalans away game and said he believes a lot is made of the trip and doesn’t believe it is too taking. We will travel in on Friday morning to prepare for the game on Friday night. Whenever we go there we don’t use anything as an excuse, whether that be travel or anything else.
Over the last few years, we’ve had some really tough battles with Catalans and we’ll be going there expecting to play them at their best, and when they’re at their best they’re a really tough team.
Paul finished his press conference with an injury update on the squad with Sione Mata’utia, Mark Percival, and Agnatius Paasi still missing, but Matty Lees, Tommy Makinson, and Alex Walmsley are all in contention to play on Friday.
