St.Helens Women’s Head Coach Matty Smith speaks to the press ahead of the Saints final four showdown with Leeds Rhinos Women on Saturday.
A Grand Final is eighty minutes away. The Saints by coming second in the Betfred Women’s Super League table have earned a home Semi-Final and will play host to third-placed Leeds. Earlier on Saturday, League Leaders’ Shield winners York Valkyrie will play Wigan Warriors.
Both the Saints and the Rhinos have produced some excellent rugby in the campaign to date, with the highlight coming at Wembley Stadium in August when Smith’s charges secured a win inthe first ever Women’s Challenge Cup played at the national stadium. However, Leeds would get a small slice of revenge by besting the Red V at the Totally Wicked Stadium, giving their season hopes a shot in the arm.
Ahead of the big game on Saturday, Smith gives the latest update on his squad, the rivalry between Saints and Leeds, and encourages St.Helens fans to be in that number at the ground for kick-off!
