St.Helens Head Coach sat down for the first time this season to speak to the assembled press and look ahead to Friday night’s match against London Broncos!
The newly promoted side will be an intriguing opening challenge for the Saints, and Wellens was keen to reaffirm that his players will give the utmost respect to the Broncos as they look to deliver a strong performance to kick-off 2024.
Wellens reveals also that three senior Saints will unfortunately miss the start of the new campaign, but that Jake Burns will have a place in his 21-man declaration, as will England international Matty Lees who did not feature in either Pre-Season Friendly.
The Red V boss also shared his excitement for the new Super League season and the start of a new journey for his players.
