Paul Wellens happy with opening round victory over London

Sat 17 Feb 24

Paul Wellens spoke to the press following our opening-round win against the London Broncos as we took a 40-4 win away from Round 1.

He said he was “relatively” happy with the win and the performance against a London side that is an unknown in the league this year, and gave credit to them saying they gave their all and showed the best version of themselves.

Despite picking up two early tries, Wello said that he didn’t expect to keep running in the tries, but there was a lot to like about the game.

All the players that made their debut received praise from the boss, with Matt Whitley, Waqa Blake, and Daryl Clark all getting good reviews from Paul Wellens, but it was Daryl who received the bulk of it.
