Paul Wellens spoke to the press following our home victory over the Leigh Leopards in round three of the 2024 Betfred Super League Season.
He said he thought we went into the game thinking we could run in the tries we scored in the last 10 minutes against Huddersfield without earning it through effort, and that’s something we can learn from going forward, and giving teams more respect.
Paul gave respect to Leigh saying he thought they challenged us well in the wide areas, giving Tommy and Konnie had a lot to do in defence, but he thought we handled it well.
With James Bell putting in another good performance, saying he’s been a player that’s jumped from club to club, but here he’s found an environment he enjoys playing his rugby.
He also spoke on Lewis Dodd, saying he looks like he’s gotten his sharpness back now following his injury, and said he thought that there was too much expected of him last year given he’s a young player still finding his feet.
