Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the media ahead of St.Helens welcoming Hull FC to the Totally Wicked Stadium this coming Friday evening.
The Saints boss talks about wanting to bounce back after our team exited the Challenge Cup on Sunday afternoon with an uncharacteristic performance at home against Warrington Wolves.
Despite their tough start to the 2024 season with only one victory to their record so far, Hull FC will pose a tough task with a number of changes from the Black & Whites over the past fortnight – the biggest of which is the departure of Tony Smith as their Head Coach and former Halifax boss Simon Grix stepping up alongside Francis Cummins. Wellens knows to expect a re-energised Hull side, with a number of youngster keen to make their mark.
Meanwhile, Wellens also issues the latest update regarding his squad with Alex Walmsley expected to miss at least a couple of weeks due to a hamstring issue picked up in the loss to Warrington. However, more positive news for the Saints on the injury front as Jake Wingfield who has a shoulder issue might not need surgery and could be back in a few weeks himself too.
