Paul Wellens spoke to the press following our victory over the Huddersfield Giants in round nine of Super League, with a late Jonny Lomax drop goal.
He said that to win like that is always nice, and for Jonny to come up with that play shows his class. He went on to describe it as a vital two points for our season.
Following us going two scores down early on in the game, Paul said that he feels there were a few plays where we were second best, and we cant afford to do that in big games, so that’s where our learning will be over the next week.
Jon Bennison was taken off in the first 20 minutes of the game to facilitate a change to the spine of the team, and Paul said that he’d apologised to Jon, as it was not anything he was doing, it was just a case of needing to make a change in the attack.
Paul also gave an update on Alex Walmsley, and said that he could be out for an extended period, but gave a positive update on Agnatius Paasi.
