Following a disappointing result on the road last time out against Hull KR, we caught up with Jack Welsby to get his thoughts on the game.
He said he’s looking forward to being able to get back out there and go again in what will be a hostile environment, as we look to right the wrongs of last week’s performance.
On that Hull KR defeat, Jack said that it was a very disappointing performance, and that we haven’t had many results like that in recent times, so we’re looking forward to getting back out there, and putting a better showing of ourselves on this time out.
Jack also touched on our offence so far this season, stating it has been “clunky” at times, but we have been working on that hard in training, and he thinks that’s slowing starting to show. With the improving weather, Jack said players are finding it easier to express themselves, and that’s something we’ll be looking to do again this weekend.
Finally on what Castleford will bring, he said our middles will need to front up and bring some strength with the likes of Westerman up against us, and Tex Hoy coming in with a point to prove means we’ll have to be at our best to keep them quiet.
