Head Coach Paul Wellens spoke to the press following St.Helens’ 40-10 home win over Leeds Rhinos.
The Saints continue to do it tough on the injury front with Joe Batchelor needing to come off the field in first six minutes of the clash against Leeds due to what looked like an ankle injury. Jonny Lomax then also suffered a concern on his hand which resulted in him needing to come off the field.
Wellens credits the team for the way they came through with plenty of energy against a fair bit of adversity after some early injuries. The Red V boss was also pleased with efforts in their preparation for the match.
Saints were challenging the Rhinos in a number of ways and our attack looked stronger but our defence was also in fine fettle as Wellens discusses.
