St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the press ahead of his side heading to Leigh Leopards this Friday evening.
Wellens talked about wanting to stem the run of bad results that the Saints are currently on, and that whilst he is asking a lot of a smaller group of his squad who are fit to play, everyone of his St.Helens team share the aim of getting back to winning ways.
Given how Leigh are now looking to scratch their way into the play-offs hunt, and how matches between the Saints and the Leopards have been bruising battles in recent times, the Red V boss knows to expect a tough task at the Leigh Sports Village.
There was a mix of news regarding the squad, with Tommy Makinson back in training this week and could make his return into the 21-man team. George Delaney has been in amongst the side as well after missing out last week, but will be given time to ensure he is 100% to play.
Wellens confirmed that Konrad Hurrell’s 2024 season is likely over following consultation regarding a neck injury which will require surgery.
