Following a run of four defeats in a row, we went into the game needing a result, and the return of Tommy Makinson and Matt Whitley gave us a boost through the week. However, Jack Welsby would leave the field two minutes into the game, and a number of players playing with knocks, would aggravate them over the course of the evening leaving us light on troops.
Leigh however would come into the game off back to back wins, and were looking to stake a claim to a top six spot. Welcoming back a couple of players themselves as well, they were in good strength and form headed into the game.
