Following a run of five successive Super League defeats for the first time in our history, we needed to get back to winning ways, and put and end to the slide we’d been on. However, that wouldn’t be an easy task, with Jack Welsby now added to our lengthy injury list, and Jonny Lomax suspended.
The game did see the return of Morgan Knowles and Joe Batchelor to the squad, a much needed boost given the situation we found ourselves in.
Hull on the other hand were looking to back up a good performance away in France against Catalans, despite a loss, and a big home victory against the Wigan Warriors. They too however were feeling the effects of a number of injuries.
