Head Coach Paul Wellens reflects on a dramatic victory over Salford Red Devils thanks to a Golden Point Extra Time drop goal.
Moses Mbye was the man who ensured the Red V got the victory and make it back-to-back wins in Super League. Wellens talked about it being a big game and had a play-off feel to it with two sides giving all they had to get a result.
Wellens was pleased with the opening period which saw Saints dominate, but errors crept in and were laced through the night so there is still plenty to work on.
Talking about that clutch moment where Mbye slotted over the crucial drop goal, the Saints boss revealed that he has trained his team for these chaotic moments. Wellens gave our #14 huge wraps, particularly for his match saving tackle just before winning it in extra time.
With Alex Walmsley also returning to the field after over four months out, Wellens praised the prop forward’s efforts on his return.
