St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to Saints TV ahead of this Saturday’s big Betfred Super League clash against Wigan Warriors.
The Saints will take on our old foes at Elland Road in the second match on Day One of MAGIC WKND 2024, and Paul Wellens talks about the latest surrounding his squad including injury updates on Lewis Dodd and Daryl Clark who will both be unavailable for the Round 22 fixture.
Wellens did not reveal if the Club would appeal Morgan Knowles’ two-match suspension, but did provide a possible boost to his squad with Sione Mata’utia possibly making his return, however there were more checks to be finalised before confirmation.
With his Saints side also in more positive spirits after securing two back-to-back victories after a difficult period, the aim now for Wellens’ men is to build and earn more victories as we approach the business end of the season.
As a man who has played in many editions of The Derby, Paul Wellens knows how much the intensity rises for Saints versus Wigan, and wants his men to manage that well to come away from the home of Leeds United with a positive result.
