With a number of players still out injured for this game and the loss of Alex Walmsley through the week it was always going to be a tough ask to take on the high flying Hull KR, but the return of Sione Mata’utia, and a debut for talented young half George Whitby brought some positivity.
Hull KR on the other hand were sitting top of the league going into round 23, and would be looking to remain there by showing the kind of performance that has led them to being the team to beat so far this season.
