Head Coach Paul Wellens held his weekly press conference to preview this Sunday’s Betfred Super League clash against Huddersfield Giants.
In his update on the availability of his squad, Wellens talked about a big positive in having Morgan Knowles returning to the fold after serving his two-match suspension notice, and that Alex Walmsley may be in contention too after missing out last week due to a hip flexor issue.
The Saints boss insisted that Huddersfield continue to be a dangerous opponent despite them missing out on the play-offs and suffering a heavy loss last weekend.
Reflecting on our own big loss last time out, Wellens wants to see improvement with our team being connected better to get a result. A win is important as we look to cement our spot in the post-regular-season mix and to maintain a record of qualifying for the play-offs in every year of the Super League. Wellens insists that whilst the record shows our Club’s consistency, his and our team’s focus is putting ourselves in the best position to be successful.
Our young players have continued to cut their teeth in the Super League, and our Head Coach again has sung their praises as a shining light during what has been a challenging period.
