Following a number of disappointing results in recent weeks, we would be looking to put in a better performance and pick up an important two points in the chase for play-off rugby this year.
In a season that had been hit with injury from the start, we were looking forward to welcoming some vital members of our squad back for the game as we head into the final few weeks of the season.
Castleford on the other hand were coming into the game off the back of a loss at home to the Leigh Leopards, with their season ultimately over at this point, but with some strike players in their side, we knew they would be dangerous, having beaten us already this year at home.
The game would serve as a farewell to some important players in the team as it could have been our final home game, and so we said goodbye to Sam Royle, Lewis Dodd, Sione Mata’utia, and Tommy Makinson.
