Despite the result, Morgan Knowles was full of pride and gratitude following his Testimonial Match.
Salford Red Devils were the victors in the Pre-Season Friendly fixture, 12-40 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Morgan himself only played 20 minutes of the game, with Head Coach Paul Wellens revealing in his post-match press conference that had it not been Knowles’ match he would not have featured like the rest of our England internationals. However, it was important to both the boss and our Vice Captain, that he feature in his celebration fixture.
Saying thank you to the fans for their wonderful reception on the day, over 4,000 of the Saints faithful, Morgan felt humbled and proud on his special day.
Whilst the game resulted in a loss, Knowles took the positives from the game and how the Saints will have learned some lessons from our Round One opponents Salford, who we will face on Saturday, 15th February. Knowles also highlighted our young talents who stepped up and wanted to shine on our home stage.
