In what was our very first run out of the year as part of a grueling preseason schedule a Saints side without any international players, bar the man himself Morgan Knowles, took to the field against a strong Salford side fresh off a warm weather training camp.
Given the goal of the game being to get some minutes into the squad, a number of Saints players got the chance to take to the field over the course of the 80-minutes. Morgan Knowles left the field on the 20 minute mark, and Moses Mbye left the field with an injury in the first half.
Wholesale changes followed at halftime as a number of younger saints took to the field for the second half, and gave their all in a tough game in cold and blustery conditions.
Tristan Sailor, Lewis Murphy, and Kyle Feldt all also took to the field in what was their first outings in the Red Vee.
