Following a loss to the Devils at home in Morgan Knowles Testimonial in our only preseason friendly, we would be looking to put into practice some of the things we took out of that game to come away with the two points to open the season.
It was a much changed side to the one that took to the field for most of last season, with debuts for Tristan Sailor, Kyle Feldt, and Lewis Murphy. Those changes we sure to inject some pace into the side and make for an electric opening night at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Salford however would come into the game with a much weakened side due to issues surrounding the ratification of their change of ownership, and so fielded a team made of mainly reserves players.
We knew that despite Salford’s issues, all we could do is play the team that was in front of us, and put in a professional performance to open our season the right way.
