Head Coach Paul Wellens sits down for his weekly press conference ahead of his team’s first away day of the league season over at The Jungle in Castleford.
Revealing the latest regarding his squad Wellens stated that sadly Lewis Murphy picked up a hamstring injury in the Round One victory, and as a result will sadly miss around 8-10 weeks of action. Outside of that news, he stated there would likely be minimal changes ahead of his official 21-man squad declaration on Thursday afternoon.
Reflecting briefly on the 82-0 win over Salford last Saturday, the Saints boss was keen to focus on upcoming matters and the tough task that the Tigers will pose, the sort of test that he and his Saints are well and truly ready for following a gruelling Pre-Season.
Knowing that the Castleford team under new coach Danny McGuire are perhaps a little more battle-hardened after two tough fought and close battles in as many weeks, and it being the Tigers’ first home match of the new Betfred Super League season, they will be very much up for it.
The Saints’ Head Coach also revealed that Ben Davies will not be available for the Tigers to select to play against the Saints.
