As we build towards our Round 2 clash with the Castleford Tigers, we caught up with Matt Whitley following our final training session before the game.
Following a big win in our opening game, against Salford, Matt is looking forward to getting back out there, but knows that the circumstances surrounding last weeks game means this will be an entirely different proposition.
Castleford will come into the game full of confidence. Despite their opening round loss to Hull KR, it was a valiant display from the Tigers going down in golden point, and one they will take a lot from this week.
With a number of strike players in key positions for Castleford, including Tex Hoy and former Saint Josh Simm, Matt knows we will have to be at our best to keep them quite, but he’s confident we can build on last weeks performance despite the gap in opposition.
More than 1,100 fans will be following the team over to Castleford, and Matt knows how important your vocal support on the terraces is to the team.
