Following last week’s narrow defeat at the hands of the Warrington Wolves we needed to get back to winning ways as we look to push back up the table after back to back league defeats. A good performance was needed to build on as we look ahead to the Challenge Cup next week, and another test against the Wolves.
Catalans on the other hand had bounced back from their slow start to the season, and were coming into the game in form having won their last three in League and Cup action.
The game would also see us come up against Saints legend Tommy Makinson for the first time, alongside another former Saints Theo Fages.
