Following on from his 150th Saints appearance, we caught up with Jack Welsby after our win away in France, and ahead of our Challenge Cup Quarter Final against Warrington.
After the win in France, Jack said it was special to be able to go over to the 700 travelling Saints fans and celebrate after a few losses there in recent years, and Jack hopes they will bring to same energy this weekend.
On the Challenge Cup, he said group have really put an emphasis on how important it is this year and we’re hoping to get a bit of payback for last season’s Cup exit.
With this being our second meeting with the Wolves in three weeks, Jack stated that while we came away from that game with a loss, it was good for the new players in the squad to get to grips with that kind of game and atmosphere. He also emphasised that he expects the Wolves to be better, with Marc Sneyd getting more embedded in their squad and for them to be more confident following their last two results.
Having won the Challenge Cup in 2021, the goal is just more silverware for Jack, and he knows that with those trophies the good experiences you get both as an individual and a group come off the back of them.
