Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the press ahead of this Friday night’s away fixture against Huddersfield Giants.
The Saints boss knows that Huddersfield’s league standing is a bit of a false position, having to deal with a whole host of injuries in the opening stages of the season. Now, they are having some players return to action in key positions and will be a tough game in front of their own supporters at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Wellens also talks about the morale boost to the squad after getting back to winning ways with a strong win over Catalans Dragons last time out. However, the team know that was one game, and the task now is to have a run of positive performances and results.
With Matt Whitley failing his HIA last week, Joe Batchelor and James out due to injury, plus Jake Wingfield suffering a late knock last week, Wellens opens up on his back-row options. He also stated that Wingfield could feature, but will be given all the time he can to see if he is 100%.
Our Head Coach also provided an injury update with some positive news as a number of Saints near closer to returns and availability.
