St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the press ahead of Saturday night’s Betfred Super League Semi-Final against Hull KR.
After one of the most remarkable finishes to a rugby league match last weekend, which kept the Saints’ season alive, Wellens asked his players to switch their focus on Monday to improving their performance for the game against Hull KR, and they have done that.
Much of the press talk this week has centred on the fallout from the Headingley clash. Ahead of another huge fixture on the horizon, Wellens believes The RFL’s statement and apology to Leeds Rhinos for a decision in that game could set a dangerous precedent.
On our squad news, the Saints boss confirmed that Mark Percival is being managed carefully with hopes he will feature, while Kyle Feldt has also been training with the team after missing last week.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Wellens acknowledged the challenge of taking on Hull KR on their home turf, but insists his side are ready to meet the test head on.
