The Saints fell short of reaching the Grand Final at Old Trafford against the League Leaders’ Shield winners for 2025 in a knockout clash.
Hull KR’s first half performance was mightily impressive, aided by a man advantage when we had a player sin-binned. However, the Saints fought back in the second period and showed plenty of fight, and Wellens did believe his men could get back into it, but pressure relieving moments through errors or wrong choices proved costly.
Reflecting on the season as a whole, Wellens was pleased with the togetherness of his team, particularly during tough periods during the year.
