Curtis Sironen marked his return to match action with a battling, hard-fought victory over Leigh Leopards.
Having sadly missed the first couple of games of the year due to injury niggles, ‘Sizzler’ was back in the starting thirteen for the Saints in Round 2 and ended up having to do 80 minutes. Whilst he perhaps did not expect to do such a big shift, he was pleased to get a just reward after losing some teammates early on in the game.
Paying credit to the fans who were loud and proud throughout the night, Sironen acknowledges that St Helens is now home to him and that he loves this club. Getting to share a moment with his child after the full-time hooter means the world to him, too.
Then, with one eye to next week and a trip to France to face the Catalans Dragons, Curtis is hoping to see plenty of our supporters over there in Perpignan.
