Watch back every Saints First Team try from the opening month of the 2026 season.
The Red V’s competitive season kicked off with a trip to West Cumbria to take on Workington Town in the Betfred Challenge Cup, and it was a night to remember as the first meeting between the two clubs for 30 years.
That Cup fixture could also mark the final time a Super League club visited Derwent Park, as Workington Town have submitted plans for a new stadium in the future. On the night, St.Helens ran in 17 tries in a comprehensive performance.
Our league campaign followed a week later, whilst it was a disappointing evening away at Warrington, Jack Welsby, Tristan Sailor and Kyle Feldt scored four-pointers for us. Welsby’s try sadly saw him get injured in the act of scoring, putting him out of action for up to four months. Sailor’s effort was an incredible chase and catch of a high kick.
The Saints’ Home Opener saw Leigh Leopards come to the BrewDog Stadium, and our men battled valiantly to earn a hard-fought victory. Daryl Clark, Kyle Feldt and Joe Shorrocks were the try-scorers on the night.
Closing out February, Rowley’s team travelled to the South of France to beat Catalans Dragons in a professional performance. Feldt and Clark grabbed two tries each, Shane Wright powered over from close range, and Jacob Host grabbed his first try as a Saint too.
You can see all of the tries above, and then keep an eye out for the fan vote for our Try of the Month Award.
