St.Helens loanee from Hull KR, Bill Leyland, gives his reaction following his two-try heroics from Good Friday.
The hooker joined St.Helens on a short-term loan ahead of our traditional Easter clash against Wigan Warriors, and on Good Friday just days later, he was the match-winner in an epic comeback victory for the Saints.
He described his Saints debut as a surreal experience, having only one training session with the club ahead of one of the biggest fixtures in world rugby league.
Admitting he was excited as soon as he heard he would be making the loan move, Bill made the most of his opportunity and delivered a strong performance, gaining valuable minutes and making a real impact.
Despite only being at the Club on a short-term deal, Leyland quickly felt the significance of the result, celebrating with the West Stand after the final whistle as a special moment, one he knows he will remember for a long time. It rounded off a memorable day for the loanee, who was proud to help deliver a big result for the Saints supporters and make his mark in such a huge fixture.
