Head Coach Paul Rowley speaks to the press ahead of our home clash against Wakefield Trinity on Saturday evening.
Speaking about the latest news on his Saints squad, Rowley confirmed that Deon Cross is doing okay after coming off the field in last week’s win over Hull FC and is now following return-to-play protocols. The likes of Nene Macdonald and Jonny Lomax are part of a cluster of players who are nearing full availability.
Still missing a large number of senior players, the Red V boss praised the attitude and belief within the group, with younger players stepping up and embracing opportunities. That ‘next man up’ mentality has been key in managing this period.
Wakefield arrive in strong form, and Rowley acknowledged their consistency and impressive stats. Rowley was keen to stress Wakefield’s strength lies in their collective output and cohesion, not wishing to highlight any one particular player for the Trin.
