St.Helens prop forward Noah Stephens spoke to Saints TV following the team’s 18-12 victory over an in-form Wakefield Trinity.
The young middle, along with the rest of the squad, knew that Wakefield had openly targeted this match after losing three times to the Saints last season. So, with the visitors coming motivated, the talk from our men was all about starting strong to take some of their emotion out of it, and that came to be with a 16-point start from the Red V.
Stephens reflected on the second half not being as strong from St.Helens, but ultimately, we got the job done and earned a hard-fought win.
With Coach Rowley playing Noah more in recent weeks, the Saints Academy graduate is enjoying playing big minutes. He thought he was away for a length of the field try during that second forty minutes, only to be pulled back due to a penalty.
The big games keep coming for St.Helens though, with York on Friday night at home and then a big Challenge Cup Semi-Final clash against Wigan in a fortnight. Stephens insists the team are taking it one match at a time, and that we are ready for the task of the Knights coming to our house next week.
