Interim Head Coach Eamon O’Carroll spoke to the press ahead of welcoming Hull FC to the BrewDog Stadium.
The Saints will look to bounce back from last week’s tight away defeat against York Knights, with O’Carroll calling on his side to improve in key areas as the race for the Super League play-offs continues. The focus has been on improving our team’s defensive discipline and execution, with a desire to cut out the errors that proved costly.
Whilst O’Carroll acknowledges the importance of the game against the Black & Whites, he stressed the focus remains on Saints’ own performances.
The Interim Head Coach also refused to use injuries as an excuse, praising the attitude of the players available and the way our young talents have stepped up. O’Carroll revealed that Billy Keeley has been rewarded with a starting place this week after his debut last Saturday, and that George Whitby returns from injury on the bench after recovering from his knee surgery ahead of schedule.
O’Carroll also welcomed the opportunity to honour the legendary Steve Prescott at Thursday night’s fixture, recognising the lasting impact he continues to have on both clubs.
