It was set to be an emotional occasion, as this match would be the final appearance for two modern-day greats of the club in our First Team, with Jonny Lomax and Mark Percival bringing the curtain down on their outstanding playing careers.
The Red V’s final game of the season came after a disappointing 48-10 defeat to Leigh Leopards last time out, whilst Hull KR claimed a 36-6 victory over Huddersfield Giants.
Hull KR came to our house sitting sixth in the league table, knowing they would be in the play-offs and could move up to fifth; however, the Robins cannot earn a home match for the knockout stages, so they were out to go into the post-season in a positive manner and in good form.
