Paul Wellens spoke to us ahead of what will be his first derby as head coach.
He spoke about the significance of the game for him, and how excited he is going into it. He also said that the squad is excited going into the game and he knows the supporters are with interactions he has had around town.
With Alex Walmsley leaving the field after his first carry last week he also gave a fitness update on the forward with him certain to miss the game on Friday.
We know Wigan are a quality side, and they play with a real will to win, so we’ll have to come with the same determination and compete in that area.
