We caught up with Women’s Head Coach Matty Smith as we look to bounce back from our loss last time out against York.
With a Challenge Cup tie against the Women’s Super League South champions on the horizon, Matty is looking ahead to getting over our opening week defeat with a big win in the Capital.
He was pleased with the effort of the team against York, and the girls worked hard in the game following a tough preseason. We, unfortunately, gave them too much field position in the game and doing that against a team like York, we put our backs against the wall.
It was a tough first game and neither the team nor Maty likes losing, but we’ve got a tough week ahead, and the opportunity to put last week right as we go down to London in the opening round of the Challenge Cup.
