St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the press ahead of this Sunday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final against Warrington Wolves.
It is the second of a three fixture trilogy between the Saints and the Wolves before the end of April, however this one has knockout consequences with the winning side progressing into the Semi Finals.
Wellens reflects on last week’s important win over Catalans Dragons in the South of France, a match which was won in hostile territory and in alien conditions with winds of up to 60mph recorded, making for a difficult game.
The Saints boss looks ahead to this second meeting with the Wolves, as we look to make it a positive result this time around and keep our bid going for a 14th Challenge Cup trophy.
Curtis Sironen was missing from last week’s squad list, and the Head Coach revealed that it was due to Sironen and his partner’s baby being expected very, very soon. The back-rower is expected to be back available for this Sunday’s match.
