On Thursday, 5th June 2025 as part of the #LoveStHelens campaign and festival, the Saints First Team held a public training session in Church Square outside St Helens Parish Church.
The campaign aims to bring together people to focus on what they love about our borough and the positive things that people do to make life better for others. It has initially begun with a six-week festival at the Church Square based church with a variety of events showcasing the brilliant people and groups of the borough.
People are being encouraged to use the hashtag #LoveStHelens on social media to share what they love about our borough. The Club will be giving away a pair of tickets to our upcoming Round 15 match in the Betfred Super League against Leeds Rhinos to one random lucky winner who shares their photos, video or message using #LoveStHelens.
Despite the downpour of rain, many people of St Helens attended to get a unique insight into a training session, and got the chance to have a chat and a photo with members of our First Team squad.
Saints TV went along to the event, and caught up with Head Coach Paul Wellens, St Helens Borough Council Leader Anthony Burns, and the Reverend Rachel Shuttleworth of St Helens Parish Church to discuss the positive impact of the #LoveStHelens campaign.
