In only his second game for St.Helens R.F.C., Shane Wright may have written himself into the Saints’ and rugby league folklore with one of the most remarkable tries ever scored.
The back-rower was a little lost for words, speaking to Saints TV. The interview came after he had finished an after-the-hooter, game-winning, team try that saw around sixteen passes thrown, the ball being worked from left to right and back again, with the Australian as the Saint who finished it off.
Speaking about the game, Wright credited the Saints supporters in the Western Terrace at Headingley for their backing.
After what has been a difficult season for the former Salford man, Shane is now possibly eighty minutes away from a Grand Final appearance. However, he knows going to the home of the league leaders will be no easy task, at all.
